This rare beautiful wedding car has had an interesting celebrity history and is one of the most expensive saloon cars Mercedes-Benz have made. They are still considered by many as their flagship saloon, with a classic shape.
During the time Donovan owned JMO 9K the car had a flamboyant time and was often driven from his home on the Wentworth Estate in Surrey to the Hard Rock café in London, often at speeds of 100mph plus where possible. The car was also featured in a promotional video with Donovan where it is being driven down the Marylebone Road in London. It has also been photographed next to the famous EUC 1OOC white Rolls-Royce once owned by the Beatles. George Harrison from the Beatles and Bobby Whitlock from Derek and the Dominoes have also travelled in the car amongst other celebrities. Donovan also used the car in southern Ireland for a while. It can be seen that a cosmic wheels sticker that Donovan stuck on the back of the front driver's seat is still there. More recently Moby used the car for one of his music videos.
It took around two years to fully restore this beautiful car and too bring it into the world of classic, vintage wedding car hire. During this period spares were purchased from around the world to keep the originality. The car was then featured in a few magazines as well as mentions on radio stations Radio 2 and Capital Gold. JMO 9K has also been featured on the Mercedes Enthusiast calendar as well as being on display at Mercedes-Benz World Brooklands in Surrey, which is Mercedes-Benz European showroom.
It is a wonder that the car was still around too restore after its hard life especially as it was left in fields to the English weather for approximately five years sometime after Donovan sold it.
The timeless elegant quality of this classic Mercedes-Benz makes it one of the most memorable wedding cars.

The Mercedes 6.3 was a popular choice in its day by many celebrities and wealthy people, for its very smooth ride due to the powerful engine, self levelling air suspension and large amount of leg room in the rear. Longer rear doors mean that this car was built to be chauffeured in. The extra leg room makes it ideal as a most spacious beautiful chauffeured wedding car. The large sunroof also gives you the feeling of openness when fully retracted, the style and build quality being reminiscent of a past time. The car comes dressed in ribbons and a neutral colour flower spray on the rear parcel shelf. This rare Mercedes-Benz is classed as one of the best rare right hand drive models in existence.
The car has also featured in the following magazines
Mercedes-Benz Club Gazette, May 2006. In a six page article 'Donovans 6.3' by Steve Barratt.
Practical Classics, July 2006. In a three page article 'Road Test' by Paul Wakely and Nigel Boothman.
